Celebrations and Traditions

Dear Parents,

We are studying Celebrations and Traditions around us; in our home and community. Yesterday we spent the afternoon on the I pads looking at different countries of our heritage and the celebrations that take part in those cultures.

I am sending home a booklet with a chart about celebrations. Please only do the chart and fill it out about a celebration that your family takes part in. I have translated the page for you and your child- it can be done in English and we can translate at school :) We have discussed the activity in class and now they are coming home to talk to you about a family celebration and tradition. Please send it back on November 14, as they will be presenting their information to the class.

Regarding the Web Organizer titled Tradition- please talk to your child about a different celebration that your family participates in. ** Some friends were eager to continue with the web Organizer- if this is the case:

Pick a different Celebration and fill out the bubbles. If you are not able to do this activity at home, no problem, can you please talk to your child about a different celebration that takes place and we will be filling this out at school :) This can be done in English too and we can translate at school :)

Tradition : Tradition
Qui: Who is there with you to celebrate the tradition?
Quand: When does the tradition take place?
Quoi: What happens during the celebration?
Pourquoi: Why is the celebration and tradition so important?
Où: where does the celebration take place?

Also, some friends would like to bring photos of themselves- that would be AWESOME!!

Thank you for your help and support,

Mlle Wilson :)
